Pregnancy and Birth: Im so tired.

Is anyone else as exhausted as I am?
Yesterday DH and I needed to do the big scour for when his parents arrived and I did the dishes and some little chores, and he did all of the intensive stuff and I still needed a nap. In fact I need a nap every day!
Is this normal?
I wonder if I am lacking something in my diet, I have no appetite really and can only eat small amounts when I can eat. I still haven't gained any weight, and am still losing. By all accounts the baby is healthy and is kicking up a storm, but I worry that I could be harming him.

Up until maybe three days ago, literally, I was exhausted all day long and worse in the evening. Now, at 17 weeks, I have a little bit of energy back, I hope yours comes back soon too, I'm still very tired in the late afternoon, but I am chasing 3 kids and I don't always get to eat in the in the afternoon.
How's your protein intake, maybe a protein shake or bar mid day would pick you up? It sounds like you might need to eat more, even if you feel nauseated by the thought, I know I sometimes have to force myself to eat a little more, then I usually feel better.

I am 20 weeks today and I still take a nap everyday. I ,also, could not gain any weight. I am up 3lbs now, but still very tired sometimes. What works for me is having a Carnation Instant Breakfast for lunch and maybe some fruit. If you are REALLY exhausted, I would contact your provider and have your Iron levels tested. Anemia can cause fatigue and can also be very bad for the babe... Good Luck to you and take care.

This weekend I did almost nothing BUT sleep! There must be a lot of growing going on. I can't believe my capacity for sleeping right now. I slept through a play on Saturday night, went to bed right away and slept 9 hours, then took an hour nap that afternoon and went to bed at 9 pm (and slept until 8).

People keep telling me I'll get a "second trimester energy boost" but I am skeptical.

I'm exhausted still too. On top of it, my stupid asthma has flared up badly so even something like picking toys up off the floor has me panting. :irked: :irked:

My new pattern seems to be alternating days of ravenous hunger with days of extreme tiredness. I eat constantly for an entire day, & then the next day I'll feel very sleepy & not very hungry. I've had decent energy for the most part but when I'm slammed with tiredness, I'm SLAMMED with it - like, no denying it kind of tiredness, the "take a nap NOW" kind.

This Sunday I took a 4.5 hour nap & could have kept going, but my stomach finally got the better of my urge to sleep & woke me up (I'd eaten very little up til then - felt more tired than hungry)!

Oop - since I just wrote about my stomach - it said, "HEY! Speaking of me...I WANT FOOD!" so I'd better go snack, and then, maybe a quick nap in the empty office nearby... :)
